We teach professionalism from the inside out
Intentional Legal was founded on a simple idea: the most reliable professional skill is a steady, attentive mind and the commitment to practicing compassionate professionalism.
Meet the Founder
Kim Milone is a licensed attorney, mediator, and arbitrator. She has spent her career inside the situations her courses address: high-stakes negotiation, professional ethics, and conflict resolution.
Kim is a certified meditation teacher. She completed Susan Piver's Open Heart Project Meditation Instructor Program and Ralph De La Rosa's Amplify Meditation Teacher Program.
She founded Intentional Legal to bring these two disciplines together so that professionals can build the attention, composure, and judgment their work demands.
How I Teach
Every training moves through four steps: Settle, See, Soften, Return. Settle in the body, see what is actually here, meet it with some mercy instead of a verdict, and return to the work. Mercy comes first, because the self-critical voice that runs perfectionism all day is the same voice that ends most meditation practices in the first minute.
The design is choices, not rules: sitting, walking, movement, or rest, whatever the room and the day allow. Eyes open, feet on the floor, and an off-ramp always available. Meditation is an adjunct to good care, never a substitute for it.
Teacher Partners
Louisiana social work continuing education is offered in partnership with Law and Social Work, founded by Sheila M. Wilkinson, JD, LCSW. Additional teachers join specific programs where the room calls for it, and every one of them holds credentials in the field and formal training in meditation instruction.
